More Info…

The nation’s best-attended after work event for young professionals is now in San Diego!  We already have 400+ RSVPs for this event.

As seen in Forbes (Best of the Web) and Cosmopolitan (”Top New Ways to Meet”), NetParty events are held at the hippest venues and “combine business networking with social fun” (Forbes).

We host parties in 15 different cities at some of the country’s hottest venues, including Marquee and Hiro in NYC, Le Deux and Opera in Hollywood and Pangaea in Miami and Austin (see photos).

You are invited to RSVP for Free Admission to our San Diego Launch party (http://sandiego.netpar…) which will be held at the exclusive Minus 1 Ultra Lounge @ The Keating Hotel (admission to our events is normally $20).  Open yourself up to meeting hundreds of new people for business contacts and social connections and gain access to this incredible San Diego hotspot. We expect over 500 young professionals to attend!

Please be our guest and enjoy:

  • Drink specials (to be announced) from 6 pm to 8 pm
  • Complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
  • Cool music played at a low volume to facilitate successful business and social networking until 8 pm
  • DJ Scott Saunders spinning great music and creating a fun atmosphere after 8 pm while allowing for continued conversation and interaction
  • Making the acquaintance of hundreds of new, young, fun people for business contacts and friendships like you can do nowhere else.

Please also join us in connecting in our exceedingly new NetParty San Diego Facebook Group,  NetParty National Facebook Group, and on LinkedIn.  You can also follow our daring exploits on Twitter.

Situated in the “chill subterranean space” (Riviera Magazine) of what MSNBC designated one of the four “coolest hotels in the world,” Minus 1 was designed by the same folks who crafted such exotic autos as Ferrari and Maserati, and the lounge was created to possess that same sleek, smooth feel. The bar in this “sexy underground lounge” (CITY Magazine) is ultra high-tech as it’s made entirely from aluminium and steel.  Conversely, the walls reveal peeks to the original brick and stone, showing off the heritage of the hotel building.

We look forward to meeting you!

A San Diego social media gal putting her life in the 2.0 limelight

My good friend, Jennifer Van Grove (@jbruin) is a local San Diego Social Media Consultant, blogger, socialite, SD Tweetup planner, etc. etc. and just added another fabulous task to her to-do list - Jenn2.0! Jenn2.0 is a web series that follows Jenn, a web savvy twenty-something living in Southern California, around and takes us through her compelling and fabulous life of working and living in social media.

Jenn was kind enough to invite me to observe the auditions today. So I stopped by on my way out of work and checked out what this crazy girl was (yet again) up to. Apparently they had been auditioning people all day to fill 4 roles for the upcoming web series. Jenn has been working hard with NAS Productions, Rob Lewis, and Darren Elwood who have come up with a darling script based around Jenn’s life as a social media consultant and her yearning and struggle to find “…balance between her online personas and her ever-present reality.”

It was really fun to meet the casting crew, production team, writers, and photographers today at the auditions and I can tell this pilot is going to be totally bitchin’! Apparently they based one of the girl characters LOOSELY around my personality…umm Jenn should I be nervous or excited at this point?

So keep your eyes/ears peeled for Jenn2.0 and I’ll definitely be doing a follow up blog once the series is introduced.

Thanks again to Jenn and her team for inviting me over for auditions (I couldn’t believe the response they got for these parts!) and I CANNOT wait to see what comes of this. LOVES IT BITCHES <3

A Thank You from Ron Herman Malibu - Customer Experience at it’s finest

I went up for a weekend get-away to LA a couple of weeks ago and one of the days I went shopping up in Malibu with my boyfriend’s Mom - yes, we get along very well! :) Even though I would like to think I can afford the fabulous things in Malibu (I really can’t) the time spent in the boutiques is always fun. One of the last stores we went into was Ron Herman - a small boutique full of beautiful cashmere, designer jeans, silk scarves and French-made jewelry - absolute HEAVEN! I ended up purchasing a studded bracelet there (apparently all of the celebs are wearing them - so I just had to have!). The sales associates were very nice and welcoming and I had a pleasant experience in the store and I would recommend anyone to return.

Now it’s been a few weeks and I went down to my mailbox tonight and saw a letter addressed to me - yay for mail that isn’t a bill! Turns out it’s a hand-written thank you letter from the sales associate at Ron Herman! Are you kidding me?! What an amazing thing to receive! So here’s how the note reads:

“Dear Sarah,

Thank you so much for shopping at Ron Herman Malibu. I hope you love your new studded bracelet, it’s a hot new accessory we can’t get enough of :). I hope you enjoyed the rest of your vacation, and please check out our website, RonHerman.com.

Cheers,

Eileen”

Well, Eileen - THANK YOU for such a personalized, well thought out, HAND WRITTEN letter. I can’t remember the last time I had customer service like this. You never get hand written thank you cards (even from your family or friend’s wedding or whatever) anymore. So thank you Eileen and Ron Herman for hiring some amazing associates and creating such an amazing customer experience. This note alone will make me check out the site and make me want to go back to the store in Malibu again and again. Wow - so cool! :)

Schmoozing While Boozing in San Diego

In an effort to get all of our San Diego tech/web friends together I am organizing an event set for tomorrow, Thursday, October 9 at 5:30pm at WineSteals Hillcrest. The road has been rough for some of our fellow web peeps and I am (along with my company who is sponsoring (aka buying booze) the event, MindTouch) trying to get people together who are looking for jobs, looking to fill jobs, freelancers, designers, developers, web marketers, recruiters, etc. etc. This is a casual event to invite anybody who wants to further develop out their personal and professional networks within the San Diego tech market. I know times are tough out there right now so this is a time when we all HAVE to stick together - we cannot bend. If you have any (even a small amount of) time to stop by tomorrow night please make an effort to come out and support our industry, our friends, and our colleagues who need it most.

So far we have almost 40 people rsvp’d - which for such short notice is an AMAZING response! Come on San Diego (and Southern California!!) and get our industry moving & shaking again!!

Please RSVP here for the event. If you have any additional questions you can refer to my blog post on the MindTouch blog, dm me @sarahmcarr or email me directly sarahc (at) mindtouch (dot) com. Cheers and MANY, MANY thanks to our wonderful community!!
